Anthèse – where joy takes center stage
Meet Anthèse: a celebration of beauty, delight, and the things that enchant us. Founders Jordan Brebois and Camille Poulain share a desire to elevate and find joy in everyday life, and describe joy as a central part of their creations. The driving force behind the house is to bring people together, tell stories, and inject everyday life with spontaneity. “Each bottle is an invitation to celebrate life, friendship, and the beauty of shared moments,” they say.

The inspiration for the scents comes from encounters, travels, landscapes, memories, and contrasts – a refreshing morning by the sea, the warmth of a sunset, a blooming garden – Camille and Jordan tell us. “The richness of life is fuel for our creativity.”
The creative process often begins with a memory, a feeling, or a snapshot that moves them. After that, they dive into what they call “sensory immersion”: they listen to music, talk, and take walks together. Then they experiment their way forward with different materials until they have reached the perfect result. “The process is a mix of discipline and freedom,” they say: “we start with a clear idea but leave plenty of room for the unexpected and surprise, because that is often where the most beautiful creations are born.”

Together, Camille and Jordan have created several scents in the shape of scented candles and perfumes. Their perfume line consists of three scents: Symphony of Roses, Blooming Woods, and Rock the Pomelo. Rock the Pomelo includes (in addition to citrus, amber, and wood) ginger – a note that Jordan thinks is underestimated. “It adds a fresh and spicy twist, perfect to infuse energy and character without ever being overpowering,” he explains.

Camille highlights tonka bean as a particularly undervalued note, with its ability to contribute warmth and comfort to perfumes. Her best scent memory, she says, is the scent of her grandfather’s garden during spring – freshly washed sheets, lilacs, and love. “It is a feeling of softness and safety that I try to evoke in some of our creations.”
Jordan describes his best scent memory as something entirely different: late summer evenings in the south of France, when the heat slowly fades and the air is heavy with the scent of salt water, monoï, and smoke from campfires: “It reminds me of laughter with friends, freedom”, he says. “We try to capture that carefree spirit in every Anthèse fragrance.”

When we ask them to describe their personalities as scents, they both return to joy, light, and positivity. “It would be a vibrant blend of sun-kissed citrus, smooth cedarwood, and a spark of pink pepper. Energetic, spontaneous, and elegant, like a summer evening with friends. I believe perfume should bring people together, celebrate moments, and leave a beautiful trace in the air”. Camille describes it in similar terms: “a delicate mix of neroli, white musk, and a touch of fig. Fresh, luminous, and comforting, like a breeze that makes you smile without knowing why. For me, fragrance is a way of sharing joy, softness, and a sense of freedom.”

That the human experience is front and center when they create their scents is more than evident. They fantasize and dream their way to captivating scents that follow you through the big and the small moments of life, creating perfumes impossible to forget. Curious to explore Anthèse?
