Bergamot

Bergamot really is an unsung hero of the scent world! This fruit, Citrus Bergamia, is a green citrus fruit originating in the Mediterranean region. It is a versatile note commonly found in perfumes across all scent families, particularly in the top notes where it provides a fresh, light, tart, and sometimes slightly spicy first impression. It often shines in floral and fresh scent creations. Bergamot was used in the very first Eau de Cologne, created by perfumer Jean-Marie Farina in the 18th century, and gives Earl Grey tea its distinctive flavour.
