Citrus

Citrus is a category of accords and notes that focuses on citrus fruits (such as bergamot, lemon, lime, grapefruit, or orange), most often found in the top notes of a perfume where they lighten the composition and contribute a fresh, crisp, and tart quality. The raw materials are often produced naturally by extracting essential oils from citrus peels. A fragrance that lists Citrus as a note rather than a specific fruit often gives a more general impression of citrus, or contains a citrus accord – a blend of several different individual citrus notes.
