Leather
Leather is a note that adds depth, warmth, and a powerful character, and is often found in the base notes of a perfume – frequently combined with spices, balsamic notes, amber, and woods. Since it is not possible to extract an essence from leather itself, it is technically what is known as an accord: a blend of notes that creates a particular feeling and character. A leather accord can contain many different raw materials, such as styrax, cistus, animalic notes, saffron accords, and synthetic materials.
