Musk

Musk is a versatile scent note that can be perceived as anything from warm, soft, and rich to soapy, airy, and fresh. It is often found in the base of perfumes, and many associate it with what's popularly called “my skin but better” scents. Musk acts as a fixative, tying notes together and extending the longevity of fragrances. Traditionally, musk was animal-derived, but today it’s primarily made from synthetics or plant-derived materials.
