Saffron
Saffron may surprise anyone who mainly associates the spice with baking. In perfume, it often has a dry, warm character with hints of leather, hay and a slightly metallic edge. The spice comes from the saffron crocus flower, though its scent can also be recreated. It appears in compositions with rose, oud and amber, adding a distinctive spicy contrast.
