Ulrich Lang New York is a niche perfume house founded in 2002. Founder Ulrich Lang has a background in the art- and beauty industries, and the house draws much of its inspiration from fine art photography. Photography plays a part in enhancing and highlighting their fragrances, which have a strong DNA: unique and delicately fine-tuned. This house balances the simple and the complex in pared-down creations with an artistic edge. Apsu is a green, aquatic creation with a slight bitterness. This scent brings to mind a shady clearing by a pond in a deep forest. A dragonfly moves over the surface of the water, and the silence of the forest hangs heavy in the air – broken now and then by a rustle in the treetops or the soft song of a bird. The water lilies bloom, and their crisp green stems move softly against your legs as you descend into the smooth, refreshing water. An invigorating stillness and respite encapsulated in this scent.
