Ulrich Lang New York is a niche perfume house founded in 2002. Founder Ulrich Lang has a background in the art- and beauty industries, and the house draws much of its inspiration from fine art photography. Photography plays a part in enhancing and highlighting their fragrances, which have a strong DNA: unique and delicately fine-tuned. This house balances the simple and the complex in pared-down creations with an artistic edge. Lightscape is an airy fragrance in which a candied, clean violet plays the leading role, backed by a supporting cast of light, powdery iris, and soft tonka bean that adds a subtle warmth. It's a beautiful, sophisticated scent with a distinct vintage feel that brings to mind a big city in the summertime: a morning walk through deserted city streets not yet warmed by the July sun. Expectation and stillness in perfect, delicate balance.
